Orange County Public Schools Career and Technical Education knows what it’s like to prepare for school—it’s what we help people accomplish every day. We’re here to help educate people in the classroom, as well as prepare them to take tests that allow them entry into the various OCPS CTE programs.

The websites listed below will help prepare you for all the sections of the TABE Test that is required for most students enrolling in OCPS CTE. You can even take practice tests to see what areas in particular you need to focus. Academic Refresher and Practice Tests are found under Practice Materials Available.

CASAS (for ESOL students)

CASAS assessments measure reading comprehension, mathematics skills, listening comprehension, writing, speaking and critical thinking and problem solving skills. CASAS is used to place, diagnose, monitor and certify a student’s level of proficiency. CASAS provides learner-centered curriculum management, assessment and evaluation systems in education and training programs throughout the public and private sectors. CASAS is used nationwide in adult basic education (ABE), English as a second language (ESOL), workplace literacy, family literacy, and employment and training to meet Workforce Investment Act (WIA) requirements.

CAREER ASSESSMENT

Career Assessment provides an in-depth look at interests and aptitudes to assist individuals in their technical training decision-making by utilizing a variety of testing instruments. Assessment tools include computerized systems, hands-on activities, and interest inventories to name a few. The service is for all types of students sixteen and older, from the young student looking for career exploration to the adult student interested in changing careers.
