Electrocardiograph Technology is a 465-hour blended program — online and in class—and will prepare a student for employment as an EKG Tech with training in human anatomy, physiology, cardiovascular systems, cardiac wellness and rehabilitation and medical instrumentation, terminology and ethics.

Health Unit Coordinator prepares you for employment as an HUC/monitor tech. Training includes maintaining, managing and coordinating patient charts, transcribing physicians’ orders, preparing patient charts medical terminology, legal and ethical responsibilities, human relations skills, safety and security of computers; and monitor tech cross-training.

Hemodialysis Technician prepares you for employment as a hemodialysis or dialysis technician. Training includes communication skills, interpersonal and employability skills, legal and ethical responsibilities, renal health-illness concepts, hemodialysis skills, emergency procedures including CPR and first aid, safety and security procedures, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

Massage Therapy (new online distance learning options) prepares you for employment as a massage therapist. Training includes massage terminology, legal and ethical practices, HIV/AIDS training, CPR/First Aid training, basic anatomy and physiology, mental and physiological effects of massage, state licensure (statutes/rules/regulations), Swedish Massage Therapy; National State Board of Massage Therapy exam required prior to completion.

Medical Coder/Biller (new online options; ATD*) prepares you for employment as a medical record coder, coding technician, or medical coder/biller. Training includes medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, coding, fundamentals of disease process, pharmacology, healthcare systems, medical records, ethical and legal responsibilities, safety/security procedures, data processing, and human relations skills.
*Applied Technology Diploma graduate may apply for 26 credit hours towards community college AS Degree in Health Information Management or Office System Technology-Medical Office Systems Specialization.

Medical Laboratory Assistant prepares you for employment as a nationally certified phlebotomist/EKG tech, monitor tech and medical/clinical lab assistant. Training includes phlebotomy techniques, electrocardiography techniques, laboratory safety, infection control, quality assurance and basic skills in waived testing in hematology, urinalysis, microbiology and clinical practice. Students are eligible to take ASPT and ASCP certification exams.

Medical Record Transcribing – ATD prepares you for employment as a medical transcriber or transcriptionist. Training includes medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, grammar/punctuation, healthcare systems, health information services, ethical and legal responsibilities, safety/security procedures, word processing/transcription skills and human relations skills.
*Applied Technology Diploma graduate may apply for 15 credit hours towards community college AS Degree in Health Information Management or 24 credit hours in Office Systems Technology-Medical Office Systems Specialization.

Training includes terminology, pharmacology, drugs, law, compounding, IV/chemotherapy preparation, packaging, records, processing prescriptions, purchasing/receiving/inventory systems, automation/computer applications and safety (first aid, CPR and AIDS) and customer service. Requires Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s (PTCB) National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination prior to completion of the program.

Training includes obtaining blood specimens, capillary and venipuncture techniques, preparing blood smears, centrifugin specimens, preparing aliquots of samples and handling and maintaining specimen integrity.

Practical Nursing (LPN) prepares you for employment as a licensed practical nurse. Training includes theory and clinical experience in acute, sub acute and long-term care facilities, personal/family/community health concepts, nutrition, human growth and development relationships, mental health concepts, pharmacology, administration of medications and legal aspects of practice. Students take the national licensing exam which is transferable to any state.

Surgical Technology prepares you for employment as a surgical technologist. Training includes performing a surgical hand scrub, gowning and gloving; operating room supplies, instruments, equipment, medications and fluids set-up; patient prep, assisting the surgeon; patient transport; legal and ethical responsibilities; and human relations skills. Students are eligible to take the National Certification Examination given by the Liaison Council on Certification in Surgical Technology.
