ESOL is a noncredit English language course designed to improve your employability by acquiring communication skills and cultural competencies which enhance ability to read, write, speak and listen in English.

English Literacy for Career and Technical Education

English Literacy for Career and Technical Education (formerly called Adult Vocational English Literacy) is a non-credit course that is designed to improve student chances for success in technical programs and at work. Students may enroll in this course prior to, or concurrent with, enrollment in a career certificate program. Students may also be concurrently enrolled in a VPI lab or Vocational Resource Center program.

Content of the course is compatible with principles of language acquisition for adult learners of English and includes language skills applicable to general workforce development as well as studies specific to vocational/technical programs.

Citizenship

The purpose of the Citizenship course is to prepare students for success in the naturalization process required for all who have United States citizenship as their goal. The content includes preparation for the Citizenship Test, by studying U.S. history, government, culture and symbols with specific emphasis on rights and responsibilities under the Constitution of the United States of America.
