What do you like most about working at OCPS CTE?
OCPS has opened the doors for me in such a positive way. Since day one I have had extremely intelligent mentors that have guided me along the way. Feeling the sense of warmth and acceptance means so much and that alone has been such a positive experience.
What’s something “unexpected” that you discovered during your time at OCPS CTE?
That I can handle a lot of personalities all in one shot and I can still wake up the next day and enjoy coming to work to do it all over again!!
How do you stay on the cutting edge of your field?
Teaching the medical assistant program is a challenge in its self. Having the nursing background allows me to keep up with all of the new guidelines needed to excel in the healthcare setting. I have wonderful communication with healthcare staff that give me insight on what is new and what the employers are looking for in a medical assistant.
What are your hobbies or what do you do for fun?
Ballroom dancing, photography
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Wow! I see myself having successfully grown with OCPS and hopefully having more of my long-term goals with the program accomplished. I will be starting UCF in Jan. so, in five years, I hope to have completed my Masters in the Education field.
Source of Inspiration:
My children...........They see me being responsible with my students and working hard in making them successful. They also see me going back to school, and what better role model than showing them the importance of always being educated and the endless possibilities that they can have in their future. This alone makes me proud and I know that I am working on making my children successful!!
