Dream Job
My dream job is to work with a neonatologist or to work in a newborn nursery.
Previous jobs or career path (if any)
I am presently a high school student, therefore, I have no work experience.
How did you become interested in current program or coursework?
I became interested in CA because my first goal has been to be a Registered Nurse and I knew it would help me with that career.
Did you have any fears about going back to school?
No, because I am in high school now but I did have a few questions and concerns about Orlando Tech because this was my first time going to a postsecondary school.
Why did you select OCPS CTE as a postsecondary or continued education option?
I chose OCPS because I wanted to attend while in high school and gain experience in the career of nursing.
What do you like most about the program?
What I like most about the PCA program is the hands-on experience and actually being able to work with patients.
What’s something “unexpected” that you learned during your time at OCPS CTE?
I learned about the great opportunities I have after finishing the program, like the certificates I will earn and the career assistance provided by Orlando Tech.
How has OCPS changed your life?
OCPS dual enrollment has changed my life because before I entered the program, I wasn’t sure about my career choice. Learning more about Nursing makes me want even more to achieve my career goals.
What will you do with your certificate/degree/knowledge upon completion of your program/coursework?
I want to find a job in nursing and gain even more hands-on experience.
Do you have any future education plans (at OCPS CTE or another institution)?
Not at the present time
What are your hobbies or what do you do for fun?
Dancing
How do you spend your days on campus when attending class?
I spend my days on campus with my classmates and teacher learning while participating in different activities related to nursing.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, I see myself going to college for my RN and then my bachelor’s degree. I plan to then move on to neonatal studies.
Source of Inspiration
My source of inspiration is my mother and my teachers because they are always pushing and encouraging me to go after my dreams and goals.
What words of wisdom would you give to future OCPS CTE students (pursuing your chosen field or others)?
Go after your dreams and always try your hardest even when there are obstacles in your way and always set goals for yourself.
